I don’t shop as often as I did when I was younger. It seems the older I get, the more thoughtful and less spontaneous I am when deciding to part with my money. But it does make you feel good when you really appreciate something you’ve purchased. When the item is good quality and you just know you’d buy it again (and sometimes have) for yourself or as a gift.
Here are some of my favorite kitchen tools that are sure to please:
I can’t tell you how happy these bamboo drawer dividers have made me. I am using several in my kitchen but you could use them in any room in your home. They have a strong spring to allow them to fit in most any size drawer. They don’t shift around but are easy to adjust if you need to. And they look so attractive, too! The same company makes an expandable silverware organizer as well.
My pair of Zwilling/Henckels Kitchen Shears like these came as a wedding present over 27 years ago. I still love them and have never had to replace them. Over the years, I have purchased them as gifts and they continue to please and are of the highest quality.
I have two of these Victorinox Tomato Knives and I sincerely wish I had a third one. I use them every single day! It’s called a tomato knife but I’ve also seen it called a bagel knife. You can use them for slicing vegetables, bread and so many other things and they are dishwasher safe. I’ve given them as small gifts more times than I can count and wouldn’t be without them. They come in black as well as fun bright colors.
The colorful Dexas Jelli Cutting Board is always a nice gift to go along with the above mentioned Victorinox knives. They come in multiple sizes. The smaller ones are so cute for a bar area or for use anywhere. I got one of these for each of my kids when they moved into a college dorm. They’re so colorful, don’t take up much room and are dishwasher safe.
My favorite baking sheets by Nordic Ware. No warping, great baking and very versatile. I actually use the quarter sheet one so much now that my kids aren’t home all the time and I’m usually cooking for just two. Use them for small baking or broiling jobs and the clean up is so quick and easy. Quality built to last.
These stainless steel funnels come in so handy around the kitchen. Made of high quality stainless they are sturdy and dishwasher safe which makes cleaning a breeze. I use them to refill my olive oil dispenser or salt and pepper shakers and also when mixing essential oils.
Everyone has a decent vegetable peeler, right? But this one is an Oxo Good Grips Serrated Peeler. The perfect tool for peeling thin soft skins like on peaches and tomatoes. Maybe it’s a southern thing, but we always peel our peaches. This peeler allows for so much less waste than using a knife.
So, there you have it. Some of the small tools I use in my kitchen that make life easier. Let me know what you think. And don’t forget to sign up for the Menopausal Brunette newsletter so that you never miss a post. Thanks for stopping by.
